Italy maintains its high level presence at Project Lebanon 2016
For the 10th consecutive year, the Italian Trade Commission-ICE/ITA is organizing the Italian participation at Project Lebanon, the 21st International Trade Exhibition for Construction Materials and Equipment for Lebanon and the Middle East to be held at BIEL, Beirut, from May 31 to June 3, 2016.
“For Italy and for us as ICE, Project Lebanon remains an unmissable appointment, considering the relevance of the building sector for the economy and the development of both our countries,” said Marina Giangrande, Director of ICE-Italian Trade Commission at the Italian embassy in Beirut.
This year the Italian Pavilion will host 8 exhibitors, represented by 15 delegates, on a space covering an area of 200 sqm. “Though we have less exhibitors compared to last year, but each of them covers a larger space. The slight decrease in the number of participating companies (12 in 2015) is by no means due to the lack of interest in the Lebanese market, but to a late start on our part,” said Giangrande.
This year, the Italian pavilion at Project Lebanon 2016 includes significant and qualified Italian companies, 5 of them approaching Lebanon for the first time, with 3 return exhibitors from previous years. “We are particularly pleased that, despite the overall economic situation and the strong competition from new emerging markets, ICE/ITA can present a number of companies that do not have a presence here yet and show interest and confidence in the opportunities offered in Lebanon,” underlined Giangrande.
Italian companies will showcase a wide range of building and interior decoration materials including wooden , PVC doors & windows , wall coverings materials & supplies, furniture components, kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors, high glass panels, metal products, sliding systems for furniture, systems for equipped walls, aluminum profiles for cabinet doors, systems for equipping & closing walk-in wardrobes, accessories & furnishing complements, architecture & design, cladding, office equipment, MDF and chipboard melamine faced panels, laminates, aluminum trade & accessories, indoor components. parquet, flooring, granite, marble, mosaic, onyx, travertine, natural stone, custom tiles design, custom marbles design.
To support the Italian participation in Project Lebanon, ICE/ITA has planned an advertisement campaign covering the major local media. “We also carry out direct marketing actions, targeting more than 2,000 businessmen and opinion leaders in the Lebanese building and construction industry,” underlined Giangrande.
It’s worth mentioning that in 2015, Italy maintained its position as the biggest European exporter to Lebanon and second in the world behind China.
Italian exports to Lebanon have reached $1.3 billion, or the 7% of market share of the total value of exports to Lebanon.
