Online platform to market Lebanese industrial goods abroad
Orient Swiss Lebanon, a recently established company owned by Bachir Abi Khalil, recently launched an online trading gateway that helps manufacturers market their products in the Silk Road countries.
Orient Swiss Lebanon is a subsidiary of Orient Swiss, a Swiss-based company specialized in building online marketplaces for B2B2C trading and inbounds travel within the Silk Road countries.
The initiative is supported by the Ministry of Economy and Trade and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture in Beirut and Mount Lebanon (CCIABML).
Orient Swiss built two platforms. The first is ‘Zoodel’ and is dedicated for Business to Business (B2B), where companies can sell their products to other companies.
The other platform ‘Zoodmall’ will be launched within two weeks and will be dedicated for the Business to Consumer (B2C) model.
The company will start negotiating with local manufacturers from different sectors including those working in food and beverages, to allow them to present their products and brands on the platform. Abi Khalil said that the company will give free access to local companies in the first two years. A very low commission will be taken on the B2B side. Commission will range between two and 15 percent on the B2C side.
The platforms will help manufacturers market their products in 15 countries that are on the Silk Road including Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Armenia, Georgia, and Russia.
Raed Khoury, Minister of Economy and Trade, said that the Ministry will follow up on this initiative and will visit the manufacturers with Orient Swiss to increase awareness about the importance of this platform.
Mohamed Choucair, Chairman of CCIABML, said that the Chamber will play a role in introducing the factories to Orient Swiss.
