Italy Named Country of Honour at Madrid’s Prestigious Salón de Gourmets
Italy will take center stage as the ‘Country of Honour’ at the 38th edition of Salón de Gourmets, Spain’s leading trade fair for premium gastronomy, to be held from April 7 to 10 in Madrid.
The announcement was made by the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Spain (CCIS), which described the event as an essential gathering for professionals in the food and beverage sector, including those in hospitality, catering, distribution, and specialized trade.
Hosted at the Ifema exhibition center, the fair is expected to attract over 100,000 industry professionals from Spain and abroad.
‘Area Italia’ Showcases Italian Excellence
Italy’s presence will be highlighted in a dedicated section called ‘Area Italia’, featuring 20 Italian companies across more than 350 square meters of exhibition space. Products on display will include:

Coffee, sauces, preserves, and baked goods
Strong Bilateral Trade in Agri-Food
Italy currently ranks as the sixth largest supplier of agri-food and beverage products to Spain, with exports valued at over €2.9 billion in 2024—marking 8% annual growth and a remarkable 77% increase over the past five years.
The Salón de Gourmets marks another opportunity to deepen culinary and commercial ties between the two Mediterranean countries through Italy’s renowned gastronomic tradition.
